I wrote a post once about having an only child; I totally got it – one could be enough. Ultimately, I am blessed to have two healthy children because I’ve always known I wanted more than one. The day I watched my father bury his own father forever cemented in my mind that raising a singleton was not destined to be my family legacy. But other than that morbid thought, what’s really sibling meaning that matters most?
Sibling Meaning That Matters Most
What is The Meaning Of Siblings?
This particular 365 project has been in my head for some time and I’m finally ready to get it underway. I want this collection of sibling photos and sibling quotes to be a reminder of the importance of their relationship. I have no idea the trials that they will encounter – as individuals and as a family unit – but my hope is that by reminding them of the true meaning of siblings, they will stay connected.
Writing love letter is what I do here at De Su Mama, but my hope is that this project portrays the sincere and endearing relationship between my babies as they grow. With a few little reminders of the joys and meanings of siblings from their wise ol’ mom.
My plan is to post a week’s worth of sibling photos every weekend. We’ll see how that works out! Shooting the images every day will be easy – getting them edited, with graphics and posted on the blog, is a whole other challenge. But I’m going to try! This will also be a fun way to challenge my photography skills, of which I have let fall to the wayside.
Eventually, all their sweet pictures will go into a family legacy photo book for them to remember the many meanings of siblings.
Mis Babies,
I started this blog for a distinct purpose: to give you something tangible to express all that my heart hopes for you. This is your life together as siblings. For the next year, starting June 1, 2013, I want to show you the smallest moment of sibling life – so if ever lost in that identity, you can look through these images to remember the innocent love, crazed annoyance and silly moments that make up this family.
Please treat other well. Please love each other, always. Please lean on each other. And remember that our family legacy continues with you.
Te quiero por siempre,
Su Mama

May 25, 2013 at 1:09 pmBeautiful! So inspiring! I can’t express how right you are. I have three children, and only now did I realise how much they all fit into our family in unique ways. I love seeing the relationships between them. Each one of them is different and they all complement each other. And I have precious photos of them and a good camera… maybe I’ll come up with a similar project?

May 25, 2013 at 1:23 pmPlease do! I would love to eventually host a link up, if even so I can visit and learn from other Moms who are writing love letters to their kids. I’m starting June 1 – start with me!

May 27, 2013 at 2:38 pmI have two younger sisters and from start to finish there is 3 years total between us. The two younger ones are 11 months apart! They are my best friends and know me better than anyone in the world (except maybe my husband!). My first pregnancy was just awful – I hated every second of it, but I knew I’d have to do it at least once more because I wanted my daughter to have a sibling!
