That’s right, my friends…. I’m pregnant with our second baby! Set to arrive early/mid April!
There are so many things I have been wanting to share with my readers lately {excitement, worries, shopping expeditions, baby gear finds, etc etc etc etc}, but I wanted to wait and be sure all is well with our precious miracle before spilling the beans. I am happy to report that Numero Dos is healthy and growing! I hope this explains my absences lately, as it has been hard to stay focused {and awake}. With Alina, I had a crazy surge of energy and felt amazing… not so much with this pregnancy. But I will get into all that in later posts…
Speaking of Alina, its been quite an adjustment for me to think of her as a big anything, let alone a big sister. But she has taken to the idea fairly well {considering she really has no idea what being a big sister entails}. Alina will be 2 years and 3 months older than this baby, and while everyone has their opinion on perfect spacing, this is what I grew up with and what we wanted for our family. When asked, Alina says she wants a baby “bruder” and Daddy D would be thrilled to oblige! A son would be fabulous, but my experience with Alina has been nothing short of amazing, so another girl for me would be perfection. Either way, and although cliche, our priority is a healthy child. Whether boy or girl.
I love my girl so very much, and to think many of my future posts will not be solely about her kinda stings my heart a bit. I already love this new baby, dream of it and have high hopes for its future. There will be many posts on baby’s development, and the anticipation of its arrival, but today is still all about my first born. And the birth of her new role, and identity, as Big Sister.
Alina,
Congratulations on becoming a Big Sister to-be! You have proven to be such a sweetheart, loving on every baby you see and caring for your baby dolls so consistently. I am so proud of the little girl you are, and know that this new baby will look up to you and be your number 1 fan for the rest of your life! Daddy and I will love you forever. You are our first born, the one that made us parents, and we will forever be grateful that you chose us to belong to.
Te quiero por siempre,
Mommy
