My Sweet Sebastian,
What a happy, little boy you are! With just a bit of prompting, Momma can get you to bust out in silly smiles and giggles. You melt my heart! You have Daddy’s big smile, and I just love it. You’ve been cooing and making the sweetest noises for a few weeks now. We hold little baby conversations, and you respond to my questions so eloquently. At least I think so 🙂
You are growing into one handsome mister; your hair is growing in, your eyes are wide and focused, and those dimples…who can resist those dimples?! You are constantly changing, and your whole family loves watching you grow into the little boy of our dreams.
I am so excited to get to know you, my beautiful child. You are a very chill baby, with a twist of tempered outbursts when you are hungry. Also, at the end of a long day, you are very consistent: you are mad. I get it. You are anxious to go to sleep, want to be in a quiet space, and need our entire focus in helping you. Doing so is not always easy with your toddler sister also demanding our attention {its dinnertime, bath time, etc}, but Daddy and I always make it a priority for one of us to calm our vibes and ease you into dreamland. Throughout the day, you easily fall asleep in any number of positions, but in the evening, you demand quiet. You do not want to be rocked, you prefer to either sit quietly or be walked to and fro. Speaking of sleep, for a 2 month old, you are AMAZING. Your first long stretch of night time sleep begins at about 11 pm {that is about the time I go to sleep as well}, and you wake up at about 4 am. You eat and are back in your bassinet 20 minutes later. You do not wake up again until about 7 am. Because of your great sleeping, I feel rested and able to parent your active sister. Thank you, my baby boy!
You have come into our lives and made yourself at home. I am beginning to forget what life was like before you were born. Watching your Daddy love on you makes me so proud to be raising a son with him. I see your Daddy kiss you, snuggle you and tell you how much he loves you and I realize what a huge impact those affections will make on your upbringing. I hope you grow into a kind, loving, affectionate man. Your happiness and positive self image is of highest importance to me. Daddy D has always been a hands on dad with Alina, and observing how he continues to express his love to you reinforces why I fell in love with your Dad so many years ago. You will not be denied hugs and kisses because you are boy, nor will receiving them make you any less boy-ish. You two are some lucky kids!
This weekend, 8 weeks after your birth, I now know our family is complete. Sometimes I wondered if another child was in our future, and I suppose no one really can ever say for sure, but I am fairly certain that your arrival has given us the perfect balance. We are not very young parents, and not of extraordinary means, so two beauties is seeming to be the right amount for your Daddy and I. Enjoying our family of four has been so gratifying, and I look forward spending a lifetime creating memories and establishing intimate relationships with you and your sister. I hope that you know, regardless of how old you are or where in this world you exist, this Momma of yours will want to be near you and smother you with any kind of attention you will allow.
I love you, sweet Sebastian. You bring so much love into our family. Life is so much better with you in it.
Te quiero por siempre y despues de siempre,
Su Mama
