What kid doesn’t love chicken strips? I know mine does! With this simple recipe filled with healthy swaps, you can feel better about giving your babies “fried” food. This baked chicken strips recipe coats chicken breasts in low fat plain yogurt and Panko breadcrumbs that are fortified with Brewer’s Yeast.
Ingredients
Chicken breasts, cut into strips
Low fat plain yogurt
Panko breadcrumbs
Brewers Yeast or nutritional yeast
Salt/Pepper
100% Soy Oil
Mix the Panko breadcrumbs with a generous sprinkling of Brewers Yeast and dashes of salt and pepper. Dredge your chicken strips through the yogurt bath (as Alina called it) and then coat with the Panko and Brewers Yeast mixture. I add this nutritional yeast to almost everything, from the kids’ breakfast to pasta or tacos. It add a boast to many of your soluble nutrients and is not super expensive.
I also use my oil mister instead of the store bought variety because I can control exactly the type of oil that goes on my food with 100% certainty that no chemicals or preservatives are in the bottle. You simply fill the container with desired oil, pump the top a few times and you have oil mist! Line your chicken on an oiled baking dish and use the mister filled with Soy oil to coat your baked chicken breasts with a generous layer. Cook them in a 400 degree oven for about 15 minutes, until done or desired golden color has been achieved.
For this recipe, I used 100% Soy oil because of its versatility, helping to create your favorite traditional meals without compromising taste, and its high smoke point of 465 degrees means you can cook food quickly without drying out the chicken breasts. Soy oil is actually in many products, including all brands of vegetable oil. Soy oil contains 0g trans fats per serving and serves as a principal source of omega-3s. Whenever I cook with oil, and don’t want to taste it, I use 100% Soy oil because of these reasons.
