You know what’s fun? That moment when your toddler’s shoes are actually used for walking! Well, it’s more like toddling and falling for the first few months… but it’s still an exciting time in baby’s development! While we have never turned our nose up at hand-me-downs, toddler shoes are items that we buy specifically for each child depending on the needs of their baby feet.
Best Toddler Shoes for Walking
Along with his growing body and personality, my baby boy has some equally big FEET! My feet are wide and of average length, but both of my kids ended up with my husband’s feet that are thin and long. At 19 months, my toddler is now wearing a size 8! Huge, right?
My husband is insistent that his kids wear high quality and supportive kicks for everyday use. Especially during their first years as new walkers, when baby feet are still forming, toddler shoes are super important.

Best Toddler Walking Shoes
Best I love everything about these shoes except for one thing (I’ll get to that in a bit). We’ve been using them a couple weeks now, and Sebastian loves them. In all honesty, he refuses to wear anything else. Like most quality toddler shoes, Reebok’s Ventureflex has an incredible flexible outsole that bends to your toddler’s foot. I love the sock liner tool that helps with quick sizing and ensuring your toddler hasn’t outgrown their shoes. Daddy D and I both love the design, with it’s wide toe box and modern color scheme, making these toddler shoes super hip! The one and only thing I’m not crazy about is that these shoes are lace ups. I love the look of laced up kicks, and the laces that come with the VentureFlex are super elastic and high quality, but they do take a bit extra time.
You can buy the Reebok VentureFlex at all FinishLine stores and online at www.finishline.com. There is a pair for girls and boys, and are specifically for toddlers with sizes 2-10.
Daddy D truly asks for so little – he is an incredibly easy going guy. I can dress my kids in anything, put my son in ballet or art, have my daughter in karate, as long as the kids are happy, he’s happy. The one and only thing that Daddy D does get all uppity about are toddler shoes – and he loves these by Reebok VentureFlex for Sebastian. The daddy sized ones might even be on his Christmas list! (If he’s a good boy!)
I can’t believe how fast my boy is growing – and “all boy” is what Sebastian is! Unlike Alina was at this age, Sebastian is non-stop moving and really does need the type of toddler shoes that will keep up with him.
How about you guys? What toddler shoes do you love? Are you as particular about quality as Daddy D is?
