A big reason we moved back to California – in addition to being closer to family – was to give our kids a high quality dual immersion education. I have to pinch myself these days, because it’s actually happening! In fact, my girl started a bilingual summer camp this week. It’s definitely been a adjustment for all of us, which is why I made these simple bilingual printable lunchbox notes to remind her how proud I am. Every day we walk onto her school’s campus, I can’t help put swell with pride. We did it! Our baby is starting dual immersion Kindergarten!
These cute Spanish notes for our dual immersion students are simple enough for early readers to understand and hopefully brighten their day with a little note from mom and dad. I pack her lunchbox note and a healthy snack in this amazing freezable lunchbox from PackIt, who is sponsoring this post.
4 Bilingual Printable Lunchbox Notes
I grew up hearing Spanish all around me and still don’t feel 100% comfortable in my bilingualism. And although I can get by, I’m certainly not biliterate (meaning you can read and write in both languages). Sending our children to a dual language immersion is one step to ensuring my culture and heritage continues in them. In raising multiracial children, I’ve always felt language was a huge part of owning their Latino identity and I’m proud of my husband and I for making this a priority.
Each of these bilingual printable lunchbox notes sends our girl to school with a simple, yet sweet, message. Feel free to download them for your babies here!
PackIt Freezable Lunch Bag
We love our PackIt lunch bag because there is literally nothing you can’t pack in it. My girl loves yogurt and with this lunch bag, I can safely pack deli meats, cheeses and yogurts without the worry of spoiling. PackIt is the only cooler lunch bag that actually cools like a refrigerator on the go, chilling food and drinks for up to 10 hours. That’s 5 times longer than the average insulated bag/ice pack combos!
Just fold the lunch bag up, store in the freezer and and the next morning the walls of the lunch bag will be completely frozen. It’s really so awesome. The secret is a special patented freezable gel built right into the walls keeping their food fresh and delicious all day long. And during this summer heat, my girl is so happy to have a bottle of super cold water after recess.
Update on Dual Immersion Spanish Kindergarten:
Spanish Kindergarten was a BLAST! You can take a peek into Alina’s Dual Immersion Spanish Kindergarten and read what she learned, as well as find out why starting Our Bilingual Journey has been the best year of my motherhood, to date.
And see Alina’s very First Day of Spanish Kindergarten… she really has come a long way in her bilingualism!
