I adore baby wearing! Love it! I don’t believe for a second that I can ruin my kids by holding them too much. On the contrary, especially with Alina, I like to believe that my consistent and loving embrace has nurtured in my children a sense of stability and strength. Sebastian is way more chill than Alina ever was, yet I still wear him quite often. They both love{d} being worn when upset, while on the go or just around the house. Not for a lack of trying, crying it out never worked in my household and most days I need two hands to get anything done. So for those reasons, baby carriers have proven to be invaluable to my parenting survival.
There are many types of baby carriers, and as a Britax Ambassadors, I am super excited to share with you some of the features of their baby carrier. The Britax Baby Carrier is a a soft-structured baby carrier with an ergonomically engineered design that accommodates infants through toddlers from 8 pounds up to 32 pounds in front carry position with the option of facing inward or outward. The line features Britax’s unique CarryLong System, which reduces the risk of back and shoulder strain during extended wear by distributing weight across the shoulders, back and hips. The carrier also comes with a newborn insert, which I think is very cool. The newborn insert and the fact the carrier can withstand a 32 lb toddler, makes the Britax Baby Carrier a true long term, long use product. You will and can use this product in different ways as your child grows and has different needs.
Because I didn’t get to attend the Britax Latino Advisory Board trip to the Britax headquarters in North Carolina this year {Sebastian had just been born and my doctor advised to restrict travel until 6 weeks postpartum}, I have not yet been able to test out this baby carrier personally. I will very soon, though! And although I would recommend my readers to test out a baby carrier whenever possible before purchasing, I will say this: I believe in Britax. I believe in the quality of their materials, the engineering and research behind the production and the integrity of the company as a whole.
One of my fellow Britax Latino Bloggers who also love baby wearing did get to test out the Britax Baby Carrier and I really enjoyed her review of it. I epseically loved how she explains the differences between the Britax carrier and the “popular baby carrier whose name starts with a “B” and rhymes with born”. Check out Unknown Mami’s post for a first hand review from someone I would trust.
Again, please do your research before committing to a specific baby carrier. I will be doing a more in depth post on the subject, but I should note that I own several types of baby carriers and use them all for different scenarios. So, maybe you are like me and could benefit from owning an arsenal. You just got to try them and find out!
Either way, it goes without saying that I believe in Britax and am SUPER excited to test drive this beauty, with both of my munchkins, in the near future!

July 3, 2012 at 5:44 amI love baby wearing! I was at the Children’s museum today with my kids, and chasing after my 3 year old would be impossible if I tried to have the 2 month old in a stroller. But, having him strapped on made it easy for me to play, dance, and interact with my preschooler, while still being in touch with the needs of my infant.
