It’s that season again and time to #FallforStarbucks! This story of friendship and gathering is sponsored by Starbucks but the opinions are completely my own and based on my experiences.
It’s official: I’ve fallen head over heels in love with my mom friends.
It’s been over a year that we moved to Southern California, the place we ultimately decided to build our family legacy, and we’re still as happy as can be. I researched schools rankings and test scores, studied demographics and socioeconomic factors (I’m a nerd), but the thing I didn’t prepare for was falling in love with the community of women that currently surrounds me.
These women are smart. They’re passionate. They push my world views. And the best part? They’re moms! These are women that live within walking distance of my house; who bring me homemade soup when I’m sick or pick up my kid from school when I’m running late.
With summer vacation over and fall upon us, we’re back into school routines and I get to see my mom friends on a regular basis again. To celebrate, I invited a few of them over to my house for a simple gathering to celebrate the fall season, good coffee and mom friendship.
All You Really Need: Coffee and Mom Friends
I swore off elaborate party throwing a few years back. While they’re beautiful, all the planning is a bit tortuous for me. My speed nowadays is super casual gatherings where community and friendship is the center piece.
So, while browsing the aisles of Target and sipping on delicious Starbucks coffee, I decided to invite a couple moms over to my house for a gathering – a simple celebration of the fall season. Plus, I’d been eyeing their gorgeous, wood serving platters and figured this would be the perfect reason to buy one. Target even had a wooden easel chalkboard that was a fun way to welcome my amigas (since all our kids attend a Spanish immersion school!) into my home.
Setting Up Your Coffee Bar for Mom Friends
I love my Keurig and so do my mom friends! They know that, no matter the occasion, I usually have several varieties of k cup to choose from. For this coffee bar, I bought my regular favorite Starbucks Pike Place, Starbucks French Roast and, of course, the seasonal favorite of Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte.
I also picked up some yummy donuts and mini-cinnamon rolls from Target’s grocery section. Easy peasy.
My mom friends and I had a nice time catching up from a busy summer vacation. I’m looking forward to enjoying this year of holidays and growth with them. Being a mom can feel overwhelming at times. And sometimes what I really need to get through the day is a giant cup of good coffee. But having mom friends to share that coffee with makes for such a sweet experience.
