Spring Cleaning My New Floors And It Feels So Good!
Since we removed the carpet and installed laminate wood floors in the downstairs of our home, I’ve been searching for an optimal method of cleaning them. Hard floors are more sanitary than carpet, not hiding grime away under layers, but man… they can be a pain to clean! I was so excited when Walmart asked me to check out the Bissell Symphony All-in-One Vacuum and Steam Mop – the only product to vacuum and steam at the same time!
This new all-in-one vacuum and steam mop is safe for all hard surfaces including wood. Bissell says the steam feature cleans better than the leading steam mop and the vacuum feature cleans better than the leading stick vacuum. Together, these two features make for a one step cleaning tool by replacing my broom, dustpan, mop and bucket. I’m excited to test this steamer out!
What I Love About The Bissell Symphony
In full disclosure, I’ve never used a steam cleaner before and this one… is… MAGICAL. Wowza! Who knew a floor can be so clean?! But what I really love is that the Bissell Symphony is a one step cleaning system. With two small kids at home, I need a strong vacuum for hard surfaces. Even though we have a full sized, heavy duty vaccum, it wouldn’t pick up the tiniest crumbs. And being so big, it was a pain to pull out every time I needed a quick vacuum/mop.
This vacuum is superb and picks up the teeny tiny pieces of our day, including the bigger chunks that Sebastian throws on the floor. By holding down the trigger for awhile, you can also steam your floors – on either low or high intensities – at the same time! Making one trip around your floor all you need. n the few weeks of usage, I got my system down: I vacuum and steam (on low) our high traffic areas at least once a day, and then steam on high once a week. You can also choose to vacuum only, but I’m pretty much addicted to the steam feature. The Bissell Symphony comes with two pads that are washable, which is awesome!
I also love that the tank is bag-less and the handle is adjustable. You know, for when my 6’2” husband wants to clean. I really love that it’s compact and fits beautifully into our hall closet without taking up too much room or obstructing other things.
The Only Con of the Bissell Symphony
I really do love this vacuum and steam combination. It’s powerful, not super noisy and compact. And for the price, you can’t beat it. The only con I can see of the Bissell Symphony compared to some other handheld vacuums that I considered buying is that the Bissell is not cordless. My friend as a hard surface vacuum that plugs into an outlet in her closet and vacuums of up to 30 minutes without needing to be charged again. Having to deal with the cord and being restricted by its length is the only con of the Bissell Symphony, in my opinion.
