This week I officially entered the second trimester and am finally starting to feel less nauseated. My face met the porcelain pot more in the previous 12 weeks than in all my years alive, and most certainly more than it did with my first pregnancy. It was horrible, and I have no idea how some women last an entire 40 weeks feeling like that. Awful.
Between feeling better and less exhausted everyday, this week also brought us face to screen with our precious baby number two. I just LOVE those appointments, as I am sure most pregnant mommas do, when you have a chance to enter the dark world of the future love of your life and watch as they move about, possibly suck their thumb and, my favorite part, hear their heart beat. It is in those moments when I realize how incredibly blessed my husband and I are. A healthy baby is a huge miracle that depends on a thousand other miracles to take place at the exact right moment. The fact that we are blessed with Alina makes me feel eternally grateful, let alone the chance to welcome another baby into our lives. I am living the exact life I want to live, with the man I always dreamed of, and I’m not sure what I did in this world to have deserved this great fortune.
And so, with that, I introduce to you our second child in the making at 14 weeks in utero.

October 13, 2011 at 10:35 pmSo happy for you and your family, Vanessa! (Yep, we all love ultrasound appointments. I’m already looking forward to that part of my next pregnancy…)
I can’t wait to read about your journey with this pregnancy and getting ready to welcome Alina’a baby brother/sister (can’t wait to find out which, too)!
I can’t imagine the constant morning sickness (never really had it with Morgan). Glad you’re feeling much better!

October 14, 2011 at 2:10 amYou made me cry!!!! Well, your baby made me cry 🙂 Hopefully the morning sickness has passed fully and you can start to feel GREAT! Did you ever try taking ginger? If I could go back in time I would tell you to try it because it really helped with mine. It’s got to be real ginger, not just “ginger flavoured” stuff. {Just telling you this in case you ever need to know again….}
