Tasty Tuesday: Sopapilla Cheescake Pie

HOLY COW!
Do NOT read any further unless you intend to gain 5 pounds. Seriously, not kidding.
My Step Mom made this as dessert for our weekly Sunday dinner. She was given the recipe from someone that had made it for their work’s potluck.
The ingredients sounded ordinary enough, the process was simple, so I thought I would take a few pictures in case I wanted to share it on Tasty Tuesday. This recipe is not a true Mexican style sopapilla, but it was goooooood!
Make this and be prepared to consume the entire pan. I’m not saying that I did…but I could have!

Ingredients:
~ Two 8 ounces packages of cream cheese {softened}
~ 1 cup of white sugar
~ 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
~ Two 8 ounce cans of crescent rolls
~ 3/4 white sugar
~ 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
~ 1/2 butter {room temperature}

~ 1/4 honey

Directions:
~ Beat cream cheese, 1 cup sugar and vanilla extract
~ Unroll crescent rolls in a baking pan that has been sprayed with nonstick stray, spread cream cheese mixture on the roll, and cover with second crescent roll
~ Mix together 3/4 cup sugar, cinnamon and butter. Spread the mixture evenly over the top.

~ Put in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes
~ Drizzle with honey

Let it cool for a bit, but eat warm for sure!! What’s great about this recipe is the ability to make it your own. My Step Mom and I came up with some fun ingredients we could add to the recipe…caramel, bananas, chocolate. Yum yum yum.

Have a wonderfully sweet Tuesday!
