According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, one in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. Only a small percentage will seek help from organizations, shelters or the police. While shelters provide valuable resources and support for women in need, the experience can often feel dehumanizing, isolating and lonely. That’s where Poppy Soap Co. comes in!
Poppy Soap Co. is an amazing, family run company committed to donating one bar of organic, homemade soap to a women’s shelter servicing victims of domestic violence for every.single.bar they sell. They’re like tiny super heroes washing away domestic violence, one beautiful bar of soap at a time. But to continue to grow (and thus help more victims of domestic violence) they need our help!
This post is not sponsored in the traditional way. I received no money to write this. However, because Poppy Soap Co. is sending me a few samples and a shipment to donate to my own local shelter here in Las Vegas, I have to disclose the post according to the FTC guidelines. Just also know that I believe in Lindy and The Poppy Soap Co.’s ambition.
Poppy Soap Co. is a California-based organic, handmade soap company founded on the tenets of quality ingredients, sustainable practices and giving back to local communities around the country. Poppy Soap Co. makes beautiful, organic soaps using a unique blend of organic oils that specifically address a range of skin issues. Not only is their soap exceptional, but they really care about the details, from their ingredients to the hand-stamped muslin bags each bar of soap is packaged in to the carbon offsets they purchase.
You might be wondering how luxury soaps can wash away domestic violence? When I watched my personalized video from Lindy asking me to become an Official Poppy Soap Co. Ambassador, I knew I had to help. From my years in social services, I’ve met so many victims of domestic violence. Some women who have had their self esteem literally beaten out of them. I’ve had to drive mothers and their kids to local shelters for a night’s rest. And I know in my heart that each of those women would have cherished a bar of soap from Poppy Soap Co.
Lindy is allowing us to help lift up another woman by purchasing a luxury item for ourselves. One bar for one bar. One soap at a time can begin to wash away the disastrous effects of domestic violence.
On October 16, Poppy Soap Co. kicked off an Indiegogo campaign to raise some much needed funding. The Poppy Soap team is currently working out of a studio in founder Lindy LaRoche’s garage. They’re thrilled to be taking large orders from customers like The Four Seasons, but in order to fill the orders, they’ve got to have the space and equipment to grow their production. More importantly, the funds will help keep the Bar for Bar program alive.
I hope you’ll join me in supporting this amazing company. By supporting Poppy Soap Co. you become a supporter of women in your local community. You’ll also get your hands (and face) on some awesome Poppy Soap perks. Watch this adorable video of Lindy and her amazing vision, and see if you aren’t tempted to help her cleanse away domestic violence, too.
